TRIP TYPES:

We believe that no one size fits all – we meet gay men who like to travel with other men and then we also talk to people who love to travel on their own. So we decided that we will work with everyone and design trips that meet every one’s desires.

Independent Trips: We love working with you to design itineraries and tour plans, we have actually learnt a lot about traveling in India from our guests! These trips start from scratch every time we get an email. Tell us the number of days, the number of people and your specifications and we will get back to you within twenty four hours with a trip proposal. From this point onwards, we will work with you fine tune the proposal till it becomes a tour that you have always dreamt of. Independent tours allow you to identify the hotels that you wish to stay at, the experiences that you wish to enjoy and determine the pace of your travel.

Group Trips: One of the big charms of LGBT tourism is to travel with other gay men or lesbian women and make new friends along the way. Indeed, the charms of a fantastic destination like India increase many folds if you have the company of friends and like-minded people. Out Journeys design group tours for gay men and lesbian women with a special focus on experiential travel. Usually, every group tour is based on a particular theme and has a liberal sprinkling of ‘gay experiences’ in India. We ensure however that none of our groups become too big for either you or for us; the maximum number of guests in a tour will never exceed twelve and will never be less than six.

The gay traveller was born in the late 19th century, as homosexual European men sought places where there was a greater freedom for the expression of their desires and what would nowadays be called their "lifestyle".

Some countries were more liberal than others, and usually the movement was towards the Mediterranean countries, but increasingly their destinations were outside Europe, often north Africa.

Just over a century ago, for instance, two of the world's greatest gay writers, Oscar Wilde and Andre Gide, bumped into each other in Morocco, where Wilde persuaded the more timid Gide to pursue his interest in a lovely Arab youth. Later, writers such as William Burroughs and Paul Bowles would find refuge in the same area.
