Bombay - Vythiri - Cochin - Alleppey - Murinjapuza - Marari


Your first night in India will be in the lively city of Bombay. After an overnight stay, you’re introduced to the diverse heritage of this city throbbing with life. It has much to offer you, be it the beaches, the bustling markets or the diverse mix of people around. Once having experienced this multicultural city, you fly to the coastal down of Calicut and after a picturesque drive, arrive at Vythiri.

 

You learn to appreciate nature afresh because once at Vythiri, you are absorbed by the colours and the beauty surrounding you. A variety of holistic healing options to soothe body and mind are available here.

 

After having your fill of the serenity, you drive to Cochin. A conglomeration of islands, this city has been the heart of the spice trade for ages. The magnificent backwaters leave you speechless as will a comfortable cruise through them. One day is not enough to appreciate this marvel of mother nature.

 

Living on land takes its toll and its not everyday that you get a chance to do otherwise, but Allepey gives you a fresh change. Board a houseboat to spend a night in, in this beautiful coastal town with canals meandering around.

 

Murinjapuza offers you trekking opportunities alongwith being a wildlife enthusiasts dream come true, with the Periyar reserve being located here. Marari, a local fishing village is something you won’t find on every itinerary but is extremely exciting with endless miles of beautiful beaches and swaying palms.  From here you are on your own, deciding when to take the leisurely drive back to Cochin. It depends upon you to relax, spend time or shop for souvenirs before flying out.

Detailed Itinerary:

 

Day 01: Arrive Bombay

 

Arrive Bombay from own country & transfer to hotel.  The stay will be overnight at Bombay.

 

Day 02: Bombay

 

Get introduced to the diverse heritage, bustling markets, business houses and many different communities that represent in this city the ever changing face of modern India.

 

 

Day 03: Bombay - Calicut - Vythiri

 

Fly to the coastal town of Calicut where Vasco Da Gama of Portugal, the first European to arrive in India by Sea, Landed in 1498. Drive to the picturesque resort at Vythiri. The stay will be overnight at Vythiri.

 

Day 04: Vythiri

 

Appreciate nature in all her colors and indulge yourself with the variety of holistic healing options offered.

Vythiri is a very exotic and picturesque place located in the Sylvan Northern High Ranges of Kerala in Wayanad District .It is known for its comfortable, refreshing and pollution free environment. Vythiri is the only hill station resort of its kind in Kerala. Situated at an altitude of about 3750-4500 ft above sea level it spreads over an area of about 150 sq km, eco-friendly and designed in the traditional Kerala architectural style. Vythiri is world famous for its evergreen rain forests and plantations of coffee, tea, rubber, cardamom and pepper. The stay will be overnight at Vythiri.

 

Day 05: Vythiri - Cochin

 

Drive to Cochin, the gateway to South India since the ancient times. Arrive Cochin & transfer to hotel. The stay will be overnight at Cochin.

 

Day 06: Cochin

 

Explore this conglomeration of islands with its fine natural harbor that has been at the heart of the spice trade from south India for ages. Then take a comfortable cruise through magnificent backwaters.

A long and interesting drive takes you to Cochin, on the west coast of India. Cochin is the natural harbor created by the famed underwater Malabar mud-banks whose quality ensures that the rougher the seas are outside the calmer the waters are within the Harbor. Vasco-de-Gama placed it on the world map. It has a Jewish synagogue, Portuguese churches, mosques & Hindu temples. The stay will be overnight at Cochin.

 

Day 07: Cochin - Alleppey

 

Morning drive to Alleppey. Board an houseboat. The coastal town of Alleppey on the Arabian Sea is the Venice of the East, for the numerous canals that meander through the town. Bathing in the backwaters on the Vemband Lake is refreshing. This town holds a thrilling event of snake-boat race every year in August. It is also known for its cashew nuts, coir trade, rice, pepper crops & coconuts. Overnight on Houseboat..

 

Day 08: Alleppey - Murinjapuzha

 

Trek through the beautiful spice and tea plantations that Murinjapuzha is renowned for. Murinjapuzha is a village close to Thekkady. The stay will be overnight at Murinjapuzha.

 

Day 09: Murinjapuza - Periyar - Murinjapuzha

 

Based at Murinjapuzha, visit Periyar wildlife reserve to see tiger, elephants and other wildlife.

You visit a sanctuary. Set up in 1934, it extends to 777 square kms & forms a part of the high mountain ranges, the Western Ghats.  Wild life can be seen while cruising on Periyar Lake in a motor boat. You can see elephants, wild boar, sambar, tiger, leopard, wild dog, langur monkeys, etc. The stay will be overnight at Murinjapuzha.

 

Day 10: Murinjapuzha -Marari

 

Completely new to the holiday experience is Marari one of the local fishing villages where life still goes on much as it did a hundred years ago. The stay will be overnight at Marari.

 

Day 11: Marari

 

Endless miles of superb sand beaches backed by swaying palms- until now one of India`s best kept secrets. One of the extremely enchanting place in Indian subcontinent is Marari Beach situated in Mararikulam village. Do include Marari Beach when you plan a beach tour in Kerala. This village is a hotspot tourist destination in Kerala uninfluenced by the modern kerfuffle. The beach of Marari is a place where you can see the sunrays pampering the sea shores and breeze sings to the coconut palms. A vacation at Marari will be exciting and a pleasure.


You will get to see the warmth of inhabitants of the village, their cultural heritage and their hospitality. This lovely picnic spot is a virgin region where conventions still have their prominence. You can enjoy the place at any given point of time as the climatic and topographical conditions are excellent here. Marari Beach sprawls over a vast expanse of 25 acres of land. Day 12: Marari

Day 13: Marari - Cochin & Departure

 

Drive leisurely back to Cochin. Relax or spend the time shopping for souvenirs and gifts, before being transferred to the airport in time for your flight out.
